Au Pair Course
Enjoy your stay as a half-au pair to learn French or perfect it!
Our Demi-Pair program, based on the Work Exchange principle, allows our students to live with a host family, and thus obtain an authentic experience of life in France. Students participating in this program combine 15 hours of lessons in the morning, and work in a family in the afternoon or evening.
DESCRIPTION OF THE PROGRAM
What better way is there than to work within a French family in order to better understand French life and mentality? For 3 years inlingua has been receiving students called Demi-Pairs from various countries for French courses ranging from 3 months up to one year. The principle is very simple, the students are accommodated, fed in half board, and laundered for free during their whole stay, and will have access to the whole house or apartment. Students will also receive a bus card to facilitate their travel in La Rochelle.
In return, students work within the family for a minimum of 18 hours per week. They look after the children, as well as help out around the house. The students live as if they were doing
part of the family.
DATES
It is possible to start your Demi Pair program on the date that suits you. However, due to careful selection of host families, we have limited places on this program. It is therefore possible that we ask the student to wait until a place becomes available before joining us for the start of his program.
We recommend that you plan your stay well in advance, as last minute bookings cannot be guaranteed.
PRICES
The cost of the Demi Pair program is the same as for long-term 15-hour students.
Courses starting from
206€
PRE-REQUIS
It is recommended that students wishing to participate in this program have at least an A1 level in French. When working with children, it is imperative to understand the instructions given to us. Beginners will have to make a special effort with additional homework and preparation before joining school in order to progress more quickly, and thus be comfortable within the family.
inlingua will send a document to be completed by the student which he must complete in order to present the profile to potential families. Once the family has accepted the profile, the school will also send the family profile to the student for their consideration. The school will then organize a Skype interview between the family and the student.
so that they meet and get to know each other.
We welcomed our first au pair in 2018, I had just separated and worked at night, with Lila who was 4 years old and Louiza who was 6 at the epic, a teenage girl in crisis who needed company in the evening , I had to find a solution very quickly and I insisted that my children keep a balanced family environment and that my professional life does not impact them!
And then a friend being a host family introduced me to Tom and since then I am very grateful because my life has literally changed since then, I no longer work at night but I am currently setting up my company and that relieves me in my daily life, and then it also allows me to have moments just for me!
Having an au pair in our home brings us exceptional human wealth, that makes three au pairs now and we have kept in touch with each of them since.
Children are happy to have someone available to play with them, they can do extra-curricular activities without me running out of school while I am on a meeting.
Help in the kitchen from time to time, with a weekly schedule we manage to get along and organize ourselves perfectly, respecting each person's schedule.
A big thank you to Inlingua and especially to Tom for his investment and patience because I have never been disappointed so far, and if one day you read me girls, a big thank you to Carolin, Flora and Lena d ' to have taken care of the girls with perfection!
